juppi duppi duuuuu, die dvd ist unterwegs an die Bäcker
Hey, all:
In a strange turn of events (well, inasmuch as being out of town on a honeymoon can be called strange), the EUROCRIME writer/director was one of the last people to get his hands on copies of the DVDs (or at least, it feels that way, with film reviewers and video stores telling me they'd gotten theirs while I was waiting by my mailbox, even before I left town). But they're in my hands now, and with Columbus Day behind us, they'll start shipping out to you long-suffering backers today.
European backers will be receiving your copies from Associate Producer Jonny Redman -- I've been passing along the appropriate mailing addresses. Since the DVDs went straight from the distributor to Jonny, they won't be signed by me, but I've talked to a lot of the European backers, and they don't care about this. They just want, at long last, their DVD.
That got me to thinking about whether the rest of the backers would even care about them being signed by little ol' me, or whether they'd rather have a new, sealed copy. It'll take me several days to ship these all out, so if you DON'T want your copy unwrapped and scribbled upon, let me know. I'll oblige if you catch me in time.
What else to say but thanks so much. I know this has taken 5x longer than expected, but (a) a cinema documentary was made that is soo much more informational than the assembly-line ones that now seem the norm, and (b) I held out for a distribution deal that actually will treat the project right. So I feel good, and I hope you will too, when you have your DVD.
In conclusion, we did it.
